Privacy Policy

___________

At BIRDWIRE, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a safe online experience. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our mobile application and website (collectively, the “Platform”). Please read this policy carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Disclosure of Your Information

4. Cookies, Local Storage and Similar Technologies

Last updated: 18 October 2026

4.1 What these technologies are. Cookies are small text files that a website places in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar browser features that let a website keep information on your device: local storage persists until it is deleted, while session storage is deleted when you close the browser tab. In this section, “cookies” refers to all of these technologies unless stated otherwise.

4.2 Our approach. Under the Danish rules on information storage and access in terminal equipment (implementing Article 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive), a website must obtain your consent before storing or reading information on your device, unless doing so is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested. On birdwire.dk we only use cookies that are strictly necessary for that purpose. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising or marketing cookies, social media tracking pixels, or any other technology that tracks you across websites. For this reason, we do not ask for cookie consent. If we ever introduce cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before they are set and update this policy accordingly.

4.3 Cookies set by birdwire.dk. The table below lists every cookie and storage entry that birdwire.dk itself places on your device. Most of them are only set when you sign in or use a specific feature.

Name Type Purpose Duration
@@auth0spajs@@::…
@@user@@::…
Local storage Keeps you signed in. Holds the access, identity and refresh tokens issued by our sign-in provider, Auth0, for the part of the Platform you signed in to (shopping and pickup, merchant tools, or administration), together with your basic profile (name, email address and profile picture). Until you sign out or your session expires
auth0.<id>.is.authenticated
_legacy_auth0.<id>.is.authenticated
Cookie (first-party) Records that you are signed in, so that your session can be restored when you return. Contains no personal data. The second cookie is a compatibility copy for older browsers. 1 day, or until you sign out
a0.spajs.txs.<id> Session storage Security. Holds one-time values used while you are sent to the sign-in page and back, which protect the sign-in against forgery and interception. Deleted when sign-in completes or the tab is closed
gb_merchant_terms_consent Local storage Merchants only. Records which version of the merchant terms you accepted, and when, while you register your business. Until you clear your browser data
gb_merchant_onboarding_info Session storage Merchants only. Keeps the business details you have entered (business name, email and address) between the steps of the registration, so you do not have to enter them again. Deleted when the tab is closed
gb-redeem-camera Local storage Merchants only. Remembers which camera you selected on the pickup scanner, so it opens with the same camera next time. Only a device identifier is stored; no images are stored. Until you choose another camera or clear your browser data

4.4 Third-party services. Some features are provided by the following service providers. When you use these features, the provider may set its own cookies or receive technical information from your browser, such as your IP address and browser type. Each provider processes this information in accordance with its own privacy policy.

All fonts used on birdwire.dk are hosted on our own servers. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other font provider when you visit the Platform.

4.5 Transfers outside the EU/EEA. Auth0, Stripe and Mapbox may process the information described above outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer relies on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework for providers certified under it, or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

4.6 Legal basis. We store and read the information listed in sections 4.3 and 4.4 without consent because it is strictly necessary to provide the services you request: signing in, buying and paying, picking up an order, and registering a business. Any personal data involved is processed to perform our agreement with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and, for security, fraud prevention and the display of maps, on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure and usable Platform (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

4.7 Managing and deleting cookies. Signing out removes the sign-in tokens from your browser. You can also view, block or delete cookies and website data at any time in your browser settings. Because all cookies on birdwire.dk are strictly necessary, blocking or deleting them will sign you out, may prevent you from signing in or completing a purchase, and will reset preferences such as your scanner camera choice.

4.8 The Birdwire mobile app. This section describes the birdwire.dk website. The Birdwire mobile app stores the information it needs to keep you signed in and to work properly on your device, using your device’s secure storage.

4.9 Changes. We will update this section whenever we change the cookies or similar technologies we use. If a change introduces technologies that require your consent, we will ask for that consent before they are used.

5. Your Data Protection Rights

6. Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie and Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
